The night shelter of homeless people serves the night sleep of those homeless people who are able to manage themselves and respect the rules of community life.Those people can take the services of the homeless center who spend their nights either on the street or in a place that is regarded as inappropriate for residental purposes.
Opening hours: every day between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m.
· Providing night relaxation
Homeless people can sleep on the bed appointed by the social worker on duty.

· Personal hygiene
In the framework of the service,the institution provides:
o bathroom with running cold and hot water supply
o towel for every day hygiene (with daily change)
o personal hygene stuff (bathing foam, shampoo)
o hair dryer
· Providing opportunity for cleaning personal clothes
In the framework of the service, the institution provides the following:
o washing room
o machines that are necessary to wash
o washing machine, tumble dryer
o washing powder
Providing the conditions that are necessary for the warming, serving and eating of dishes:
o use of the kitchen between 4 pm and 7 am.
o kitchen instruments and accessories
o storing food in the fridge,with name
o offering help in the organisation of dining
in the framework of basic services
Organising working opportunities :
keeping in touch with the Szombathely Headquarter of the Western Transdanubian Labour Center, the publication of their job offers, offering jobs for people on the basis of job advertisements published in the press and offering employment opportunities within the framework of the company.
· Package, value and fortune guard
· Providing postal address,telephone use
· Upon the written request of the service taker,the institution provides a postal address. If some delivery arrives, the social worker on duty is in charge of delivering the letter. Service takers can use the public telephone situated in the area of the institution.
· Consultation
Upon the request of the service taker,the social worker on duty in the night shelter, organises legal and psicological consultation and gives self-management advice to the service taker.
· Information service
Upon the request of the service taker,the institution provides social and information.Information service can take place orally and in written
· Organising basic health service
The doctor of the institution provides basic helath service upon the requerst of the service taker.
· Ill people’s room
In case of an illness and after hospital care, the service taker can ask for a placement in the ill people’s room. Placement in the ill people’s room can take place upon the proposal of the doctor of the institution, until the term defined in the proposal.
· Organisation of specialized health care, hospital care .If it is necessary, the doctor of the institution is in charge of organising the access to specialized care, or about the assignment to hospital care.
· In cash or in kind allowances
The service taker, who (temporarily or permanently) does not have any income, can ask the social worker for an in-cash or in-kind contribution. The condition of its receipt is
cooperation with the social worker.
In-kind contribution can be especially: support for buying one’s medicines, providing cafeteria tickets for buying food, providing food. In every case when the monetary contribution can be substituted by an in-kind contribution, then in-kind support should be given.
· Administration
Upon the request of the service taker ,and if the person in question is entitled for any kind of support, the person entitled can ask the social worker for help.The condition of administration is to stipulate a cooperation agreement with the social worker in charge of administration.
In the framework of administration, the institution procures the documents, the certifications and the copies.
All service providing for homeless people related to the administration takes place in the Daytime Centre.
· Organising leisure programmes,providing participation on them
Organising leisure programmes, especially : watching TV, listening to the radio, newspaper reading, borrowing books, and preparing for the holidays.
During the organisation of leisure programmes the social worker prepares a programme plan (schedule) in which she lays down the tools that are necessary for the programmes.
· Organising rehabilitational activities
Those service takers who wish to make a change about their own situation, can ask for their participation in the rehabilitation programme. In the framework of the rehabilitation programme, the social worker and the service taker stipulate a contract for the rehabilitation activity. Rehabilitation programmes can be organised in the framework of social teamwork.
The service of the night shelter starts upon request. The service taker makes a written declaration about his intention of taking the services.
Up to the amount of available spaces,the following are given advantage and :
· Those above the age of 50, those whose health is damaged, those who are handicapped
· and those who need to be taken under care due to their mental or health condition.
· In the framework of using the night shelter,the homeless person has to log in at the social worker on duty.
· In case of a new service taker, the social worker gets to know with him/her the order of the house, which has to be signed by the service taker.
The signed copy of the order of the house is inserted into the personal material of the service taker.
The social worker examines the fact of homelessness in the case of the service taker, and then informs the person entitled about the services.The service taker –if he wishes to take the services of the homeless people’s home –has to take part at a medical examination at the dispensary.
Having done that, the head of the institution establishes his or her institutional legal status.
The services of the night shelter are free of charge.
